~Vampyr~ CHAPTER ONE

Clara was sixteen years old. She had dark red hair she always styled away from her face and braided at the back to keep it from falling forward. The braid ended at the end of her back and was interwoven with blue ribbon. She wore faded blue jeans and a fitted black top and carried a black and blue duffle bag over her shoulder; which she held in place with her hand. Her long legs pushed her quickly through the crowded bus station, while her black Doc Martin shoes tromped in the odd puddle that remained from the earlier afternoon storm. The clouds were now beginning to break up and the sun struck through with bright beams of light. She hid her eyes as another burst of sunshine tried to blind her, and moved quickly to the doors leading underground to the subway below. She sighed, looking bitterly at the sky as she made her way down. She never cared for the sun and felt more in her element behind the clouds and out of the light.

She used to be so fair, innocent, unaware. Until she was made into a vampyr. That was so long ago. When Romania was still part of the Roman Empire. It was just bad circumstance, Clara couldn't have been in the worst place at the worst time. All due to a wrong turn on a road one afternoon.
